SEARCHING FOR SONGS OR SOUND EFFECTS

Basic search
Found at the top right of every page in the store just above the player, basic search gives you quick, simple, and reliable access to the Veal-Steen Licensing Catalog. Search by artist name, release title, track name, genre or mood. The basic search combines our music and sound effect catalogs into one, conveniently located search browser.

Advanced search
The advanced search functionality, accessed via the 'SEARCH' tab on the navigation bar, is a powerful indexed search that pulls results live based on the audible characteristics of the music - tempo, BPM, mood, timbre, presence and pitch, complexity, danceability, etc. - and traditional music search fields - artist name, track title, release title, and genre. Search results are faceted, allowing you to drill down into the results further using the above descriptors until you find exactly what you're looking for. Our music and sound effect catalog each have their own dedicated advanced search pages, optimized with search criteria that uniquely define the different audio types.

USING PLAYLISTS

Why should I use a playlist?
The songs in your playlists become your personal collection at the Veal-Steen Music Licensing Store. It's easy to add, delete, view details, and listen to songs while viewing your playlist. You can create as many playlists as you need, and adding songs to your playlist saves you time on your return visit. A playlist also allows you to share a pre-selected group of audio tracks with a co-worker, editor, client, developer, etc. Once logged in, you can return to your playlists by clicking on [ playlists ] in the toolbar at the top of your screen.

How do I create a playlist?
Save songs in a playlist and create a private collection that only you, and those you invite, have access to. To create a playlist, begin by adding audio content: simply click on the' ADD' button next to any audio track. Once you have added a track, your playlist is activated. Simply click [ save ] next to the playlist heading, and enter a playlist title - you can also add a custom image and notes - and the playlist will be saved until you delete it.

How do I delete a playlist?
To delete a playlist, select [ playlists ] from the toolbar at the top of your screen. Locate the playlist you'd like to modify and click the 'Delete' button under the ACTION column.

How do I add or remove songs from a playlist?
The 'ADD' button, found next to all audio search results, allows you to add a track to a playlist. To remove a track from your current playlist, click on the 'x' next to the track name in the playlist.

How do I reorder my playlist?
Simply drag and drop the tracks into the desire order and save your playlist ABSOLUTELY! Our software was designed to encourage collaboration with as many partners (or clients ) as you'd like. Recipient(s) will receive an email with a link to the playlist and will be able to view and interact with that playlist.

SHARING

What can I share?
Any page that features the 'Share' button - tracks, sound effects, and playlists.

Can I share it with more than one person at a time?
Sure. By clicking [ contacts ] in the toolbar at the top of your screen you can create up to 5 groups with up to 20 recipients in each group. You can add multiple emails separated by commas or on their own individual lines.

How do I know if my email has been delivered and received?
You can track your emails by clicking [ sent email ] in the toolbar at the top of your screen. Each sent email is listed, the subject and the date. You can review the content of the email and the statistics of the delivery, including open and click-through rates, which are illustrated with eye catching information graphics.

LICENSING

How do I get a license?
When you've found a tune or sound effect you would like to use in your project, click the 'License' button next to the track or on the track page. This will put you on the licensing information page.
